Break barriers, build bridges.
Break barriers, build bridges.
Our Goal is to help bridge the gap between our students and higher education.
often times, that gap is a financial one.
This year as we raise funds for our college students and graduating seniors, our main focus is not traditional scholarships that help pay tuition. Our aim is to ease the financial burden of the less talked about costs associated with school. Things like books, application fees, groceries, housing costs, dorm, and hygiene essentials.
Sometimes a single textbook for one class can cost up to $300. This is not including the fee for the access code they need in order to turn in the assignments they needed the textbook for!
These costs, across multiple classes, on top of paying for food, purchasing essentials for their dorms, and keeping up with hygiene necessities, are the less talked about costs that often surprise and overwhelm students as they do their best to focus on earning their degree.
bridge the gap
This year, we are inviting individuals, families, organizations and businesses to join us in bridging this gap with our Spring of Possibility Campaign. We began this with a talent show that served as a fundraiser for our Spring Scholars College Tour where 16 students toured 3 universities to help make a more informed decision about their majors and college options. Now, as we get closer to our Honors Brunch, we are raising money for scholarships and awards that will help close this financial gap. Here’s how you can be a bridge and get involved!
01
Donate even $1 to the fund. it all counts!
Every donation is tax deductible and will be used for awards, scholarships, and essentials baskets. Nothing will go to waste!
02
Create your own scholarship or award
Whether in honor of a loved one, on behalf of a family or business, or just to help bridge the gap, awards of $250+ can be named and presented at our Honors Brunch. You may also set specific guidelines for how the award is given and to who!
03
Spread the word & come to the honors brunch
Join us for our end of the year celebration where we will honor students, graduates, and community members!
